Aloha/Akai Style 2 Concert Ukulele - Hawaii c.1930
$945.00

A very rare Concert-size ukulele from Aloha Ukulele Manufacturing Co, Honolulu.
'Akai', whose cursive brand is seen here stamped below the TABU brand, was a pseudonym for Tai Chong Goo, something of a 'master-builder' for the Aloha Co.
Interestingly, he advertised his ukes independently of the company whilst employed there, & the company advertised his ukes to potential buyers by asking "Is it a Ukulele..or is it an AKAI?!
Possibly the most remarkable thing about this already rare Concert ukulele is its condition - changed tuners, but in immaculate, virtually unplayed shape with its original case.
