Vintage Fender Stratocaster Refin - USA 1979

Here is a nice Fender Stratocaster, built in Fullerton California in 1979 refinished in a stunning Fiesta Red. It features a solid ash 3-piece body and a bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. And it is in very condition for a 40+ year old guitar. 

Owned by one of Australia's most well-known and high-profile guitarists, this Strat has certainy been played, showing some genuine relic'ing with a few dings and dents in the finish, a few light scuffs here and there, looking like nice and road-worn rock machine! There is some minor tarnishing of the metal parts adding to its vintage appeal. The neck is straight and super clean front and back. There are no structural issues, and this thing feels great to play. 

This '79 Strat is fitted with a loaded pickguard from a 2023 American Pro II Strat including three V-Mod II single-coil Stratocaster pickups and a performance friendly push-push switch on the second tone control activating the neck pickup in switch positions one and two, adding two unique pickup configurations not normally found on a Strat.

The frets are in great shape, all electronics work 100%, the neck is worn-in, clean & comfortable, and the pickups are solid and punchy. It has a 5-way blade switch, replacement Schaller tuners & the truss rod works perfectly. And the tremolo bridge works just fine. 

It weighs in at 9.34lbs which is middle of the road for 70s Strats, giving this guitar a tough, meaty sound. 

All in all, an excellent, late 70s Strat, with nice upgrades, that magnificent oversize headstock, rear skunk stripe and a 3-bolt neck joint that does NOT move or slide around. Quite a looker, with sound to match. This one is super clean for a 45-year old guitar. 

Comes in a Fender hard shell case in good condition.
