Yamaha
SOLD - Yamaha SA 2200 Thinline – Japan 2004
Pickup currently unavailable
SOLD
This Yamaha SA 2200 is one of the best 335 style guitars ever made, by any brand. The SA 2200 is Yamaha’s next to top of the line semi hollowbody and is built with such attention to detail that they certainly make some USA brands sit up and take notice.
We very rarely find an SA 2200 available on the market, mainly because they are simply such great instruments, and owners are reluctant to part with them.
A great feature which stands the SA 2200 model apart from its lesser siblings is the coil split function applied to both humbucking pickups via the tone controls - a great guitar made even more versatile.
And all of the sounds are good. Often a coil split results in simply a weaker sounding pickup, but with these babies sound good in any combination, from jangly & sparkly to fat and growling – just dial it in.
This one was manufactured in Japan in 2004.

This one is a great player, with sound to match, featuring high quality materials and fine workmanship. The pickups are mighty impressive – ranging from very airy and articulate to fat, dark and gritty with some judicious dialling.
This SA2200 is in great shape. There’s not much player wear to be seen anywhere. There is some light swirling on the pickguard, and some expected tarnishing of the gold hardware in places, but this guitar is still certainly in fine condition for an instrument almost 20 years old.
There are no structural concerns or any cosmetic blemishes of note.
The medium jumbo frets appear to be original and are in great shape – plenty of life left. The ebony fingerboard is a classy touch, and the neck is super comfortable & plays beautifully.
This is a fabulous, unique sounding, semi hollow thinline that can stand toe to toe with any brand of that style and come out a winner.
Comes in its Yamaha hard shell case in good condition.
