Vintage Fender Champ 5F1 Combo - USA 1964
Pickup currently unavailable
This 1964 Fender Champ F51 is a collector's gem, possibly one of the final models to roll out of Fullerton. Standing the test of time, this model was immensely popular among both novices and seasoned players for its legendary tweed sound packed into a sleek, compact design. Uniquely consistent in its design from 1955 to 1964, it symbolises the end of an era for tweed amplifiers.
This Champ was built in April, 1964 as indicated by the letters 'ND' imprinted on the tube chart.
Sporting a rare black tolex cover, a distinctive choice for the 5F1 Champ made only in the years 1963 and 1964, this amplifier is in remarkable condition. The tolex is pristine, and the control panel exhibits minimal wear while retaining clear, legible silk-screened text.
It features the original speaker and, although the tubes and some capacitors have been replaced, it still has its correct output transformer. The amp’s sound is unparalleled, capturing the quintessential tweed tone with ease once the volume surpasses the halfway mark, showcasing why it's so revered.
Finding such a well-preserved piece is rare, making this a coveted item for aficionados and collectors alike. This is a unique chance to secure a piece of music history before it's too late.
Comes with step-down converter for Australian voltage.
