Vintage Gretsch 6136 White Falcon - USA 1968

A stunning example of a late-‘60s mono White Falcon, this is the flashiest Gretsch of them all—the Crème de la Gretsch. Built in Brooklyn, NY, in 1968, it retains all its pre-Baldwin features, except for the new-for-'67 recessed-edge knobs. Everything else is classic White Falcon magic—patent-number Filtertron pickups, a telescoping-arm Gretsch vibrato, and kidney-button Grover Imperial tuners.

By 1968, these high-end hollowbodies were falling out of favour, produced in smaller numbers, making them a rare find today.

Dressed in gleaming white with gold sparkle, this big white bird is still one of the most over-the-top stage guitars ever made.

This one has weathered the past 50+ years beautifully. No breaks, repairs, or structural issues. There’s some play wear on the back of the neck, a pickguard crack, and binding rot at the neck heel, but nothing that affects performance. The frets are in good shape, and it plays and sounds absolutely incredible.
