Vintage Guild T-50 - USA 1963
Pickup currently unavailable
The Guild T-50 was introduced in the 1950s as a stripped-down, no-nonsense archtop designed for players who wanted the warmth and resonance of a fully hollow body without the higher cost of more ornate models. Built in Guild’s Hoboken, New Jersey factory, the T-50 quickly became a favourite among jazz, blues, and rockabilly musicians for its smooth playability, rich acoustic voice, and straightforward electronics. With its lightweight construction and responsive tone, the T-50 is a perfect example of Guild’s dedication to quality craftsmanship.
This 1963 example is in excellent condition for its age, with a clean body and neck that have aged beautifully. The frets show some wear but still have plenty of life left, making it an easy player with great response. The slim 'C' profile neck sits comfortably in the hand, offering a fast, effortless feel that makes this guitar a joy to play.
Sonically, the single P-90 pickup delivers everything from warm, woody jazz tones to raw, biting blues growl. The fully hollow body enhances natural resonance, making this guitar an excellent choice for both amplified and unplugged playing. Whether you're comping chords, fingerpicking, or digging into single-note runs, the Guild T-50 offers a balanced, articulate sound with incredible dynamic range.
At Premier Guitars, we love instruments that combine vintage charm with real-world playability, and this 1963 Guild T-50 is a prime example. Simple, elegant, and sonically rich, this is a guitar that truly embodies the timeless appeal of vintage Guild craftsmanship.
